Thank you Toru!

Before I gonna start to create a page where others say something about my work or site I have to thank Toru:

« 少し和風っぽいデザインで気になった3つの内の1つ。全体のデザインもシンプルだし、ナビゲーションの線なんかは面白いと思います。でもそれ以上に好きなのはロゴです。ドイツの方のようなので、どう言ったコンセプトでこうなったかはしりませんが、「富士山+桜」っぽいのが妙に気になる。 »

After asking him about a translation he wrote an extended (english) version:

«[…] there were 3 sites which caught my eyes. BureauBlumberg was one of them. First of all, I like the simple look, with its focus on content. Secondry, I think the use of verticle line above the navigation menu is a very interesting way to solve that space above the main content. I couldn’t think a way myself to solve that space, but to insert a photo or a picture. Lastly, and its actually my favourite, is the site logo!

I am not sure whether you meant it or not, but I feel that this logo gives a slight Japanese, or Oriental feel to the site. To me, the logo looks like three cherry blossoms, with Mt. Fuji on the background. The dark red color helps also. If there wasn’t this logo, or if it was more like your “CSS Rebooted 2006″ logo, I would get a different impression: good and simple design. Perhaps its a good example, when talking about the importance of the site logo. Would look great on the back of the T-shirt too, I think.

I am wondering whether you had “Japan” in your concept, when you re-designed the site?

In summary, I like the good simple design. The good choice of color and excellent logo design is an effective way to create an impression, but with keeping the overall simple look.»

Thank you Toru — 有難う。

Thank you oBeattie!

«I love dark red, and simple, content-focused designs. Yoram’s site fits this bill perfectly. Although not without it’s graphical flourishes of goodness, this site has a really nice and refreshing content focus. See what I mean?»

Thank you Oliver Beattie!

  • Checking right now the plugins
  • Doing the last few codings and customizations on my new css
  • Filling my portfolio pages with my design examples
  • Waiting for monday evening to inject my new style!

They made my day!

Morphcore. By accident I stumbled upon their site and their great tracks. Pure dope. They offer a bunch of mp3 to download and one very hard to play (at least on my Mac) but very good visual.

CheTrooper arrived in Berlin (finally!)

unpackYesterday the postman made me happy. After waiting nearly more than 2 months a little package arrived. Sender: UrbanMedium. Content: The Heavy Ammunition Project. And after opening the package and unpack everything (a cd and 4 or 5 stickers) I just dropped the cd into my audio to listen to the tunes: Wow! Much better than I hoped. I’m still listen to the cd today! Favorite track so far: «Undisputibles» by L.A.ment feat. Evidence. Thank you and respect to UrbanMedium and DJ Spider!

You can still buy that cd (and the stickers!) over there at The Heavy Ammunition Project — It’s worth every cent and I’m a little sad that I missed the «Special Box».

CheTrooper arrived in Berlin

One of the 4 or 5 stickers went on vacation today after he was cloned and multiplied. Made a tour through Berlin: The CheTrooper. Sticking here and there. Sticking everywhere. (Click on the pictures to get an enlarged version.)

fine piece of work

not my words — but I was pretty happy to hear (well, read) that. Weeks ago I joined a contest for the upcoming 2nd release of Yasu to create an icon.

Now my icon did the 2nd place but won the contest. To read more about how this could happen at Jim Mitchells site. Thank you Jim!

final fonttool

final version of Linotype FontExplorer X released today.

If you’re on Mac and want to manage some (more) fonts: go get it.

It replaced Suitcase and FontAgent on my Computer. Month ago. It’s free and I don’t think that Extensis can win with SuitcaseFusion against a competitor with a lifelong knowledge of fonts and a product which is rock-solid. No crashes for 5 months.
